Can traveling to a restricted region get your Claude Code account banned?
The author warns that using Claude while traveling to a restricted region may risk your account even from a supported country, and asks Anthropic to clarify rules for travelers.
Can a short vacation get your Claude Code account banned? Even if you live in a supported country, using Claude while traveling to a restricted region could put your account at risk. DHH recently mentioned using Claude Code through Tailscale while traveling. It's a useful trick for remotely accessing your computer back home and keeping your development environment running there. But it doesn't guarantee your account is safe. I think Anthropic needs to clarify how these rules apply to travelers. Developers shouldn't have to guess whether a short trip could cost them access to a tool they pay for.
