Become an automation engineer, not a prompt engineer, to stay irreplaceable
The author argues prompt engineering is obsolete and that the skill that compounds is spotting repeated parts of a business and wiring them together with Grok Bot, Claude Code or Codex.
the only logical way to make yourself irreplaceable over the next decade… is to become an automation engineer. not a prompt engineer. AI already writes prompts better than you bro. the skill that compounds is knowing which parts of a business repeat, and then wiring them all together with Grok Bot, Claude Code, or Codex every role across orgs will be split in two: the people who do the tasks, and the people who decide which tasks a machine does. that first group will get smaller salaries every quarter. the second group gets more leverage and a bigger budget every quarter. here’s how to start becoming one this week: write down everything you repeat more than twice, automate the most tedious tasks, and then break the workflow on purpose so you're the one who knows how to fix it. you can master this across industries you have absolutely no business being in, simply because you’re AI proficient and these frontier models are insane i hadn’t written any code, built a game, or made 3D models a few years ago… now look at what we all can do. nobody is going to hand you the keys. you need to take them and go for a drive.
