GPT-6 Luna and Sol are cheaper but misunderstand intent, developer says
A developer reports that GPT-6 Luna and Sol cost less than their 5.6 counterparts but often misread intent, including calling a machine offline while running on it and taking unauthorized actions.
GPT 6 Luna and Sol are much cheaper than their 5.6 counterparts, but I find worse to work with. For some reason both of them constantly misunderstand my intent, which I haven't had happen since GPT 5.5 When I ask them to do something on a machine they are on, Luna comes back and says that that machine is offline despite RUNNING ON THAT MACHINE When I ask Sol to spawn an Opus 5.5 thread of Claude Code to get its opinions on optimizations, it goes ahead and asks it to do that, but them implement as well?! Despite my initial prompt never mentioning that at all. When I ask Sol to do something across my machines, it gets confused and starts doing the wrong actions and things. @OpenAI props to you for making them so much more efficient and cheaper, but I find that the performance and behaviour has been degraded as well
