Running the same prompt on both Flash models, MiniMax took 1h30m at about $0.50 with a simpler design, while DeepSeek took 80 minutes at $1.15; the author notes both were far too slow for Flash models.

MiniMax M3.1 Flash vs DeepSeek V4.1 Flash-1017 tested both with the same prompt, and the results came out very different. > MiniMax took 1hr 30mins and cost about $0.50 > DeepSeek took 80mins and cost $1.15 minimax went for a simpler design at less than half the cost, but both models spent way too much time on this. for Flash models you’d expect them to be a lot faster. which one would you pick here?
