Hark Pro hands-on: a lighter alternative to Dots and Duet
An engineer tries Hark Pro, calling it a cheaper option for simple personal-assistant tasks like gym search, flat hunting, email archiving and docs, though integrations rely on computer use rather than MCP.
Hark Pro has a different feel and would appeal to users who have simple personal AI assistant needs I can see it as a great alternative to ChatGPT Dots or Claude Duet for getting things done on a personal level. Entry is also way cheaper, you can even try it for free Grok Bot can do more for sure but Hark’s experience is different especially in mobile. As an engineer, I might even use both! The iPhone app is really sleek and the design will for sure appeal to normal users So far I was able to ask it to search for gym memberships, search flat rentals, archive my emails, make a google doc, configure a stocks panel and configure daily AI news and stocks updates The integrations need some work and I noticed it is using computer use entirely and does not use MCP. I can be wrong but this is what I experienced when I ask it to make a page in Notion It’s in its early stages and there’s lots of potential Great job by @hark_labs, I like it I’ll ask my wife to try it too!
