Running out of Codex usage doesn't mean running out of ChatGPT usage, post says
The post lists weekly GPT-6 Pro and GPT-5.6 Sol Pro message limits for the Plus and Pro tiers and notes that regular ChatGPT usage remains available even when Codex shows 0%.
‼️Running out of Codex usage does NOT mean you’re out of ChatGPT usage. Your normal Chat limits are separate: -> $20 Plus: No GPT-6 Pro in Chat -> $100 Pro: 50 messages per week shared between GPT-6 Pro and GPT-5.6 Sol Pro. -> $200 Pro: 200 GPT-6 Pro messages per week + 170 GPT-5.6 Sol Pro messages per day (200 combined Pro messages max per day) So even if Codex shows 0% remaining, you can still have plenty of usage left in normal ChatGPT. For heavy Pro model users, the $200 plan looks much better value than $100. You pay 2x but get 4x the weekly GPT-6 Pro messages, plus the separate daily Sol Pro allowance. This only applies to Pro models. Regular GPT-5.6 Sol, even on Extra High, does NOT use these Pro message limits. OpenAI does not publish an exact usage limit for regular GPT-5.6 Sol.
