Daytona CEO: consumer AI agents lack CPU compute
Daytona's CEO cites Grok Bot and Muse to argue agent power comes from tools, not models, and that the CPU compute for consumer-scale agents doesn't exist yet.
Daytona CEO @ivanburazin warns the world doesn't have enough CPU compute to run AI agents at consumer scale: "When Grok Bot came out, for every chat you actually have a computer. I was like, yes, finally, this is what we’ve been saying forever. An agent to actually get its superpowers, it’s less about the model today, it’s more about the tools." "We are an infrastructure company, but we’re mainly CPUs. We are not GPUs. GPUs are mostly used for pre-training and for inference. Most of the work that you do on your machine is actually on the CPU." "NVIDIA now announced their own CPU, the Vera. Qualcomm is coming out with their own server CPU. I know of two startups building net new CPU tech." "If for Muse to have 100 million users, it will spend $2.8 billion of CPU compute. Meta now has 3 billion users, and that’s just Meta. Think of all the consumer apps in the world, and if they all become agents, how much compute is that? That compute doesn’t exist in the world today." @daytonaio
