5x subscriber says Astra burns 8-9% of weekly quota per task, may cancel
A 5x plan user says a single Astra task can consume 8-9% of the weekly limit and plans to cancel if GPT-6 Sol or a quota change doesn't arrive this month.
I’m sorry, but as much as I love Astra, it’s becoming almost impossible to justify using it this much. The weekly limit disappears like fuel in a Hummer H1. Even relatively simple tasks on the 5x plan can burn through 2-3% of the weekly limit, which is honestly kind of insane. I think I may have to say goodbye to the 5x subscription if we don’t get something like GPT-6 Sol this month, or some other change that makes the plan feel more usable. I just can’t justify paying over $100 a month to solve a couple of real problems here and there and then barely have enough usage left for experimenting. That’s probably the most frustrating part for me. Ideally, I’d use Astra for my actual work, keep some of the remaining quota for tests, and then share those experiments here. But doing both is becoming harder and harder. Yesterday, for example, I gave it one more serious task: fixing some web scraping issues in my trip fare finder, which is probably one of the best tools I’ve built with AI so far. That single task used around 8-9% of my entire weekly limit. Astra is amazing. I just wish I could actually afford to use it like an amazing model.
