A ChatGPT news plugin built with Sites, MCP and extensions
A ChatGPT news plugin lets users set interests, get scheduled news with summaries and charts, give thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback, and discuss items in chat, all built on Sites, MCP and plugin extensions.

Okay, now ACTUALLY calling it a day. ChatGPT News plugin working pretty well, as follows: 🎯 Tell it your interests. You can put these in the settings or ask ChatGPT to do it. 🕚 Get a new batch of news on a schedule. ✍️ Each item includes a headline, a summary with links, and a visual of some kind. The visuals are currently diagrams or charts, and they're simple. I wish I could use the new GPT-6 dynamic UI elements here! 👍 You can thumb-up or thumb-down items. This feedback gets stored in the database. ChatGPT reviews it when it makes a new batch of news choices. Currently, it does a look-back over the prior 50 feedback entries. But I hope to make it more qualitative in future, having ChatGPT improve your feed by refining its understanding of your interests based on your feedback. 💬 You can click on items to discuss them with ChatGPT within the News plugin. Clicking "Discuss" passes the item as context to the chat. This entire thing was built by ChatGPT (Dots) using the full ChatGPT stack: Sites for database and MCP, Sign in with ChatGPT for authentication, plugins with extension for the UI. There are rough edges all over ChatGPT right now, but there's also HUGE potential in all of these pieces coming together.
