Opus 5.5 turns a hotel MEP model into a sliceable browser video
The author connected Opus 5.5 to a live Revit model via MCP to inventory the piping and ductwork, then built a browser viewer that orbits and slices the hotel's systems into a video.
THIS HOTEL IS FIVE BUILDINGS IN ONE. HVAC. Water. Fire. Power. Data. Same tower. Pulled apart. 32 floors. 132.7 m. 38,784 m². 648 rooms. The model counted what was actually there: 6,413 m of duct 7,138 m of chilled and condenser water pipe 15,699 m of water pipe 7,527 m of fire pipe 2,224 sprinklers 17,284 elements Old way: send the Revit file and hope someone can read five systems at once. New way: connect Claude Opus 5.5 to the live model through MCP, let it inventory the building, then build a viewer you can orbit and slice in a browser. This video is the first pass. It can go much denser: fittings, slopes, real ceiling congestion, unique floors instead of a repeated plate. Against a coordinated Revit model it still looks schematic. That is expected. The point of this version was the split, not construction LOD. It is not every fitting dumped out of Revit. It is the systems, rebuilt so a client sees the hotel in 30 seconds instead of getting lost in a 400 MB file.
