The moat debate after Grok Bot, Muse and Dots launch in quick succession

The author argues the agent layer and UI get copied within weeks, so the real barrier is compute scale, and bets on SpaceX's Colossus and Starmind power route.

Grok Bot launched in August. Meta Muse launched in September. OpenAI Dots launched today. The harness and UI get copied in weeks. Even frontier models leapfrog each other every few months. The agentic layer gets commoditized, the model layer gets distilled. None of that is the moat. An always-on agent burns tokens around the clock. Whoever scales compute the fastest will give customers more tokens at cheaper prices. Elon saw this more than a year ago. SpaceX will double Colossus compute over the next 3 months, then lock up 30% of Rubin allocation in 2027. And when the bottleneck for compute becomes access to power, Starmind will become the only viable path for additional capacity at scale. In the AI gold rush everyone is trying to build the next best pickaxe. $SPCX is going to own the mine.
