GPT-6 Sol is still being tuned for Chat mode, tipster says
A tipster says GPT-6 Sol is still being developed for Chat mode as fast as possible, that the version in ChatGPT Work, Codex and Text Arena may not be the final checkpoint for conversation, and that current benchmarks shouldn't be treated as final.
I’ve been told that GPT-6 Sol is still being actively developed for Chat mode, “as fast as possible.” My current assumption is that the version we’re seeing in ChatGPT Work, Codex, and testing platforms like Text Arena is not necessarily the final checkpoint tuned for human conversation, personality, and the regular Chat experience. I’ve also noticed some genuinely impressive improvements in GPT-5.6 Sol in Chat over the last few days (stealth test?). It feels significantly better than it did even a few weeks ago. So personally, I don’t think we should treat the current GPT-6 Sol benchmarks as the final word yet. I’d rather give OpenAI a few more days and see what they actually ship in Chat after all the feedback they’ve been collecting.
