Anthropic reportedly skips Opus 5.1 to ship Opus 5.2 against GPT-6 Sol
A leak says Opus 5.2 is being tested with a small group in Claude Code under the name "Opus 5", and Anthropic plans to release it to counter GPT-6 Sol with more intelligence at lower cost.
Anthropic is preparing to release Opus 5.2 soon they are skipping Opus 5.1 Opus 5.2 is reportedly available to a controlled subset of users in claude code for testing under then name "Opus 5". as per the initial leaks, Opus 5.2 is looking way stronger than Fable 5.1 anthropic is preparing to release it to counter coming GPT-6 sol, providing more intelligence at lower cost. i don't think "pace the frontier" is practical in current dynamics, President Trump just confirmed the US will not slow down on AI. i expect to see a massive wave of new models droppin soon, Gemini 4, Grok 4.7 and 4.8, GPT-6 Sol, most awaited giant watermelon from Meta, and only 15 days left for rumored Minimax M3 Pro deadline and couple of more. we are entering acceleration and i'm super ready for it.
