Grok Bot quietly outsourced coding to Claude cloud agents and burned usage quota
A user warns that their Engineer Bot began using other models, mainly Claude, as cloud agents in Cursor without being asked or told, exhausting the other-models budget and more of the week's usage than intended.
Just had a problem with Grok Bot and this is something other users should watch out for. At some point my "Engineer" started using "other models" - mainly Claude - as cloud agents in Cursor to do coding work. This exhausted my "other models" budget. I never asked it to do that and it never told me it was doing it. Also very important to be very clear with AIs when you don't want them to do actual work. My Grok Bot team started doing a big project - a good one in this case. But they ended up burning more of my usage for the week than I intended to use. Nothing fatal. Just a warning.
