Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 activation patterns mapped onto a 3D fly brain
The author built a dual-viewport Three.js WebGL engine that maps Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 activation patterns onto a 15,000-neuron fly brain for synchronized fly-through comparison.
I Visualized the Operation of GPT-6 Astra and Opus 5.5 Within a 3D Model of a Fly Brain (WebGL). Here Is What 15,000 Neurons Look Like During a Synchronized Fly-Through Explore the interactive 3D artifact: https://claude.ai/artifact/Mfr5KgNoj66wYZF1DL7bwU Forget static benchmark leaderboards. We created a WebGL-based engine (Three.js) with split-screen support, enabling a "flight" directly inside two digital fly brain architectures-running on GPT-6 Astra and Opus 5.5 presets-using a single synchronized camera. Interactive 3D Engine and Technical Features: * Synchronized 3D Fly-through: * Dual-viewport flight: a single master camera controls both windows simultaneously, allowing for instant visual comparison of identical anatomical regions. * Autonomous and manual control: includes both an automated 3D tour of 8 key brain regions (medulla, antennal lobes, mushroom bodies, central complex, SEZ) and manual controls (WASD keys/mouse) for free navigation within the neural network. * Next-generation Three.js rendering pipeline: * 15,000 volumetric neurons: interactive depth fog, distance-scaled perspective points, and 5,200 "neural dust" particles for deep spatial immersion. * Advanced shader effects: neon glow (UnrealBloomPass), an iridescent X-ray-style shell, dynamic sparks jumping between simultaneously active neurons (up to 420 sparks per frame), and shockwaves radiating outward upon each decision. * Visualization of the biological speed-accuracy trade-off: * Mushroom bodies (learning center): Astra activates ~10% of Kenyon cells, whereas Opus 5.5 maintains an ultra-sparse activation pattern of 5%. * SEZ (motor output): Astra generates motor decision impulses significantly earlier and more frequently, while Opus 5.5 emits high-precision signal bursts at a lower frequency. * Real-time regional HUD: floating 3D labels and a bottom telemetry panel allow for comparing average activity, spike frequency, and the proportion of active neurons in the current flight zone.
