So why would DeepSeek give away the engine that makes them that much money? Remember how DeepSeek V4.1 Flash felt different depending on who served it? That's what this fixes. Along with the engine, they released deepseek-recipe, which makes other providers handle tokens exactly the way DeepSeek's own API does. Same engine, same behavior, on Nvidia or Huawei chips. So now any provider can serve DeepSeek almost as well as DeepSeek does. And honestly, that's also a smart way to get others to take some of the traffic off their own servers.
