OpenAI just launched dots: 𝟮𝟰/𝟳 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 with their own cloud computer and browser. Users kept roasting Codex remote as the worst UI/UX they'd ever used. This one feels great: 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, and the interface is a pleasure to look at. Handing off work is easy: → A coworker pings you in Slack: forward it to your dot with "hey can you take this" and it takes it from there → @-mention it in a doc comment: "turn this into a bar chart" and it gets on it → When it's too much to type, just call it The better your dot knows you, the less you have to spell out. On day one, send it this so it can get to know you 👇 "Don't start working yet. Get to know me first. 1. Go through the last two weeks of my connected email, calendar, Slack, and docs. Tell me what I'm working on and when each thing is due, where my time goes, and what I keep doing over and over but have never handed off. Cite a source for each point. If you can't find something, write "not found." 2. Wherever you're unsure, ask me one question at a time until it's clear. 3. Pick 3 messages or docs I wrote as samples and sum up my standards: what results I like and what I hate. 4. List 5 things I could hand off to you for good. For each one, say when you'd start and at what point you'd stop and wait for my OK. 5. Draft Custom Rules for me: what you can do on your own, what needs my approval, and what's blocked. Sending messages needs approval; payments, deletions, and permission changes are blocked for now. I'll enter them in settings myself. Show me each step when it's done, and only move on when I say so. Until I confirm, don't send messages, change anything, or connect new apps." Dots run on GPT-6 Astra and connect to 4,000+ apps. They're rolling out first to Pro and Business Premium in select regions; on Enterprise, an admin has to turn them on.
