Gemini 4 Pro / Flash: benchmarks, hands-on tests and leaks

Googlers are said to be testing a Carbon checkpoint in the internal Jetski coding tool, with one calling it Opus 5.5-like, and it reportedly appeared on Chatbot Arena with 3D praise.

StatsWire says Gemini 4 Carbon remains active in Google's latest Antigravity ACP v1.4.3 build, explaining that "-tf" means Teamfood and Carbon has both M428 and M427 slots.

A user post claims Gemini 4 Flash is coming soon, without giving a date or specs.

A rumor roundup says Google staff are testing a Carbon checkpoint on internal coding platform Jetski, with one developer calling its coding 'comparable' to Opus 5.5; Carbon also reportedly appeared on Chatbot Arena with praise for 3D output, and Argon went GA on October 13.

A user says Gemini 4 Argon is painfully slow, arguing it would be a top-tier model otherwise, and pairs well with DeepSeek v4.1 Flash.

Gemini 4 Argon is reportedly available in Antigravity IDE, with a rollout announced to complete within 24 hours; users should update to v2.6.0.

A user says Gemini 4 Argon combines GPT-4o-style warmth with Opus 5-level reasoning and strong writing/roleplay, but only allows 5 messages per 5 hours, and asks Google to raise Pro quotas.

A satirical post lumps Gemini 4 Argon, GPT-6 Astra, Claude Opus 5.5 and others together, mocking how every model gets called closest to AGI.

A post says Gemini 4 Flash is internally named Hydrogen, hopes it becomes the official Flash tier name, and wants the Carbon/Argon/Hydrogen family to follow periodic-table naming.

A user speculates Gemini 4 Flash is close to launch with a model codenamed Carbon behind it, arguing it would be an interesting release if it repeats the 3.8 Flash jump and fixes pricing.

Users note Gemini 4 Argon holds the highest humor score on benchmarks, and its actual replies back it up as the funniest model around.

A leak says Gemini 4 Flash has appeared internally under the codename Hydrogen, with no sign of Gemini 4 Carbon and speculation that the Arena Argon checkpoint was actually Flash.
