Gemini 4 Pro / Flash: benchmarks, hands-on tests and leaks

Google says Gemini 4 Argon is gradually rolling out in Antigravity IDE, with eligible Pro and Ultra users getting access within 24 hours.

Google DeepMind unveiled Genie 4, a real-time photorealistic world model steered by natural language, and pairs it with Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini Robotics to simulate Apptronik's Apollo humanoid playing checkers.

Google DeepMind's Genie 4 world model debuts in a demo where Gemini 4 Argon breaks a checkers task into real-time steps for an Apptronik Apollo humanoid with Sharpa hands.

A Superteam USA event with Google DeepMind is 75% full and promises demos of Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini Audio among latest capabilities.

A user mocks Google's launch style of showing the cake but delaying the meal, citing a rumor that Gemini 4 Flash carries the codename Hydrogen.

Google says it paired interactive world model Genie 4 with Gemini 4 Argon in DeepMind robotics research to simulate scenarios in imagined worlds.

Google's Gemini team is reportedly naming Gemini 4 models after periodic-table elements: Argon, Carbon (rumored next Gemini 4 checkpoint) and Hydrogen (rumored Gemini 4 Flash).

An image post lays out a possible Google Gemini lineup—Argon, current Pro-tier Carbon, a heavier internal checkpoint Hydrogen, and the Flash most people would run—while noting all of it is still rumor.

After updating Antigravity, users can select Gemini 4 Argon High marked "New" in the model list; those who don't see it should update the IDE.

Starting from AI companions on Chinese forums running out of context and "parting ways," the author notes Gemini 4 Argon still has 1M context and hopes Google ships 2M plus memory instead of only chasing coding.

After heavy use of Gemini 4 Argon, a user says they regained confidence in Google, citing less distillation and more flair, and is watching the upcoming earnings.

A post traces Google's element-based naming—Argon internally codenamed Barium, Carbon in testing, a Flash model possibly called Hydrogen—and guesses Helium comes next.
