Gemini 4 Pro / Flash: benchmarks, hands-on tests and leaks

Google's Gemini team is reportedly naming Gemini 4 models after periodic-table elements: Argon, Carbon (rumored next Gemini 4 checkpoint) and Hydrogen (rumored Gemini 4 Flash).

The poster claims the insanely fast Gemini 4 Argon seen in Arena testing is actually the "hydrogen bomb" Gemini 4 Flash at 300tps.

An image post lays out a possible Google Gemini lineup—Argon, current Pro-tier Carbon, a heavier internal checkpoint Hydrogen, and the Flash most people would run—while noting all of it is still rumor.

A single HTML file with procedural Three.js renders a 7.75M-voxel scene with a pagoda, bridge, viaduct and steam train at 60fps for $2.48.

A leak claims Gemini 4 Flash runs around 300 tps, faster than GPT-6.1 Terra, with Argon-level intelligence and pricing below Argon, near Sonnet 5.5.

The author built a mech-pelican cycling page with Terra, then unlocked a $1-spend blind box and won 1M Gemini 4 Argon tokens.

Gemini 4 Flash is reportedly being tested internally under the codename Hydrogen, fitting the Argon → Carbon → Hydrogen naming sequence.

A user guesses Gemini 4 Flash, codenamed Hydrogen, could ship around Oct 31 after two more days of testing, and wonders if it can beat a GPT-6.1 Terra-type model.

After Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini 4 Carbon, rumors of a Gemini 4 Flash variant surface, with users joking that Google is moving too fast to keep up.

A joke thread noting Anthropic names models after literature, OpenAI after astronomy, Google after chemical elements such as Argon and Hydrogen, and DeepSeek after dates.

Citing another user, the post says Gemini 4 Flash reaches 300 tokens per second on LMArena and asks how many would switch if quality holds.

The poster argues that Gemini 4 Argon alone won't make Google's Antigravity mainstream among developers and asks for agreement.
