GPT-6 Astra in Practice: Tests, Use Cases, and Feedback

Pro 200 subscriptions are on sale again with continued access to frontier models like Astra, and OpenAI commits to not reintroducing the 5-hour limit so users can spend their weekly usage freely.

OpenAI launched dots, always-on agents powered by GPT-6 Astra that run 24/7 in their own cloud computer, connect to 4,000+ apps, work within permissions you set and can ask for approval before acting, rolling out first to Pro, Business Premium and Enterprise users.

A Portuguese-language roundup lists the day's launches: dots, ChatGPT Space, GPT-6.1 Sol, 300 tok/s Ultrafast, a $500 Pro plan with 25x usage, the Decisions API and more.

A DevDay roundup covers dots agents limited to Pro users, the cheaper GPT-6.1 Sol, 8x faster Ultrafast mode, a $500 Pro tier and Codex moving fully to the cloud.

The post describes dots as an AI employee running on GPT-6 Astra with its own cloud computer and browser that works toward your goals on its own instead of waiting to be asked.

An OpenAI staffer says the team used Astra to rewrite ChatGPT Web on top of the desktop app codebase in five weeks, so launches like Dots, Space and Codex Cloud will now ship on web and desktop the same day.

A creator says ChatGPT dots runs on GPT-6 Astra and can operate ChatGPT Work and Codex from a single chat, and used it to build a CRM that follows up on business leads.

OpenAI says Astra is the choice when maximizing quality matters most, while the cheaper GPT-6.1 Sol offers near-Astra performance for complex work run more often, and is now available in ChatGPT Work, Codex and the API.

Arena is showing how frontier models, including GPT-6 Astra, have progressed at bringing Ancient Rome to life under the same prompt from Q4 2025 to now, with scores for Claude Sonnet 5.5 and GPT-6.1 still to come.

A post says Sol reaches Astra-level performance on DeepSWE at $2 per million input tokens, $10 output and $0.10 cached input.

The poster says GPT-6.1 Sol is close to Astra on coding, computer use and professional work while costing one-fifth as much.

A Chinese post rounds up six OpenAI releases, including the dots agent, ChatGPT Space, the cheaper 6.1 Sol, a Decisions API, a new Codex Cloud and an Agents API preview.
