GPT-6 Astra in Practice: Tests, Use Cases, and Feedback

GPT-6 Astra gains a U.S. legal research index plus instructions for legal analysis and writing, aimed at legal use cases.

ValsAI says OpenAI used its legal research benchmark to validate Astra for Law, and on OpenAI's self-reported runs it beats GPT-6 Astra with web search at every price point.

In a letter-counting test at low reasoning effort, GPT-6 Astra stayed accurate (93% at 1280 characters) while Fable 5.1 scored 53% and its accuracy curve was non-monotonic.

A third-party leaderboard shows Astra scoring 65.5%, ahead of Fable 5.1 at 56.3% and its predecessor GPT-5.6 Sol at 32.2%, the highest score currently.

OpenAI has launched Astra for Law, a GPT-6 Astra-powered platform for legal research, analysis and writing with access to over 230 million legal sources.

Astra for Law focuses on data privacy and includes 26 partner-built plugins and 47 community plugins to speed up legal work in ChatGPT.

A Japanese author announced a book out tomorrow, "I Tried Making a Serious Action Game with GPT-6 Astra," reflecting that it is now possible to make not just animation but full games.

Polymarket reports that OpenAI released Astra for Law, pairing its most powerful model with a search index covering over 99.9% of published U.S. precedential case law.

The GPT-6 Astra-powered legal search layer covers U.S. case law, statutes, regulations and administrative decisions, lifting legal-research correctness from 38.7% to 54%.

The author connected Astra to Motion, where it builds scenes, animations and transitions from supplied assets and references, then keeps refining them through prompts.

The author argues that running several agent harnesses at once is the most important skill right now, giving an example where Claude Code, Codex, Astra and Deepseek split the work.

OpenAI's Boris Power says Astra crossed a capability threshold, making AI transformational for legal workflows.
