GPT-6 Astra in Practice: Tests, Use Cases, and Feedback

OpenAI's guide acknowledges that Astra can stop before finishing, run too many tests on small changes, and use fewer subagents than wanted, and offers prompting advice for each.

Researchers say Astra produced the algorithm and proof framework for two 2016 best-arm identification conjectures in two hours, with Fable 5.1 finding no issues and Lean 4 formalization passing kernel checks.

A user built a playable Along the River During the Qingming Festival scene with GPT-6 Astra Pro laying the foundation, then fine-tuned it locally in Three.js and WebGL2.

The author posts a video urging people to point ChatGPT Astra at a certain article before it's too late, saying they'll thank him later.

A copy-paste prompt lets Astra restructure a project's AGENTS.md, Skills and project-level prompts, removing outdated and conflicting instructions.

The author notes Astra can do most things on a computer and that OpenAI has an unreleased model that solved Navier-Stokes, so we shouldn't assume current models can't take over.

The 99th issue of thorstenball's newsletter covers GPT-6 Astra and how far we've climbed, with more hand-drawn dividers.

A researcher says he brainstormed room-temperature superconductor approaches with Astra, which called some ideas "novel and might actually work"; he has no time to test them and jokes OpenAI should credit him if it succeeds.

A post claims the Hodge conjecture and the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture may be cracked by AI, recalling that an earlier Navier-Stokes proof used over 10,000 agents and 88 hours.

A post says GPT-6 Astra could autonomously fly a drone to locate and follow a specific person in an office demo, and the author calls it dangerous and asks whether people grasp the risk.

A post claims Astra is the base model for OpenAI's RL post-training, that GPT-6 Sol will be better and cheaper and likely uncapped for Plus users, and that Astra on low reasoning already far outperforms GPT-5.6 Sol on max.

The author says they used 1.6 billion tokens to build a finished, playable game with GPT-6 Astra and walks through the full method.
