Jev in Practice: Browser Use and Agent Workflows

Within three days dozens of open reimplementations appeared, the community found that reading next-token logits alone gets about 80% of the effect, and what actually stuck was the choice/score API contract.

From joining the waitlist to installing the Python or JS SDK and sending a first typed request, plus gateway routes through Vercel, Cloudflare, and Netlify that skip the wait.

The author, self-described as "jev pilled", suggests running npx skills add typesafe-ai/skills to install the official skill, then asking an agent to analyze where Jev fits in your project.

A developer demonstrates computer use with TypesafeAI's Jev, where a spoken command opens the app almost before the sentence ends, with near-zero latency.

The author describes actually using Jev on production systems for three days through mapping, shadow runs, measurement, and promotion, and lists the failure cases along with plans for further evals.

The author built a fully autonomous trading bot in an evening and the following morning that ingests onchain and offchain data to make fast trading decisions, emphasizing there is no token and it is purely Jev-driven.

A Japanese user documents Jev's four-step signup taking about five minutes with no card required, plus a $5 monthly credit granted automatically and judgments costing under 0.01 yen each.

The post analyzes Jev's core claim that lower average accuracy plus reliable identification of which decisions to hand off can make a model better suited to automation, and mentions Supercov using Jev to evaluate code quality.

A case-by-case look at whether Jev can close the loop on computer control, browser tasks, triage and classification, model routing, trading, games and more, and where humans should stay in the loop.

The author argues Jev's decision-making can serve as low-cost, fast evaluation and quick routing in AI workflows and agents, and looks forward to more benchmarks for this model category.

After a $40M seed round, TypeSafe released Jev, a model that outputs decisions software can use directly instead of chat, priced at $0.042 per million input tokens with free output.

Testing Computer Use in the Codex app, the author finds Jev only makes a single gatekeeping call with no speedup, and argues it fits large-batch computation better than step-by-step operation.
