GOT CLAUDE TO LAY A ROMAN MOSAIC PIECE BY PIECE, AND IT LOOKS 2,000 YEARS OLD Saw someone get Opus 5.5 to build a LEGO duck out of real parts and wondered what the ancient version of that would look like. Asked Claude Code for a Roman mosaic instead. It starts with the eye, 9 tiles for the pupil, a ring of gold around it. From there it keeps going, row by row, the way an actual mosaicist would work a wall, not generated, laid. 7,878 tiles by the end, every single one a real 3D stone catching light differently depending on the angle. No image model anywhere in this. No video model either. Just code, running live in the browser, placing one tile at a time until a duck made of stone 2,000 years ago shows up on screen.
