Damnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!! GTA X Minecraft Built with Opus 5.5 Neon Nexus, Phase 2: you can drive now 🏎️ Walk up, press E, and take the Halcyon Kestrel down Coral Drive at sunset. Drifts, neon underglow, engine sound. Runs right in the browser. No download. (will available when full 8 phase will be completed) #threejs #gamedev #indiedev Details: Phase 2 is built: you can now get in a car and drive it around the city. The Neon Nexus page is updated, and the full project is in http://neon-nexus-phase2.zip. Not yet tested in a browser. Three.js can't be downloaded into my workspace, so I couldn't run the full game. Only the driving physics was tested here, and you still haven't confirmed that the page gets past "Starting…". Please reload it and tell me what you see. If an error box appears, paste its text here. How to drive: you spawn in Nexus Plaza facing the beach, and the car is parked on the road right in front of you. Walk up to it and press E when the prompt appears. W to go, S to brake and then reverse. A/D to steer, Space for the handbrake (drifting). E to get out once you're under about 11 km/h. What I tested here, on the backup physics: Speed: 0–100 km/h in 2.5 s, top speed about 170 km/h, and stopping from 160 km/h takes about 32 m. Steering: sharp at low speed, wide at high speed. The car can't spin out when you steer hard at speed. Handbrake: the car slides sideways and grips again when you let go. Collisions: the car climbs curbs, bounces off walls without passing through them, and won't drive onto benches or the pier. Getting out: you exit on the driver's side, or the other side if that's blocked by a wall. The car: the Halcyon Kestrel, an original magenta wedge-shaped coupe with cyan light strips and underglow. It's built entirely in code, with no model files. The body dips when you brake and leans in corners. The wheels spin, and the front wheels turn when you steer. The headlights switch on when you get in, and the brake lights flare when you brake. Also new: Camera: pulls back further when you drive and swings behind the car once you stop moving the mouse. The field of view widens with speed, and the screen shakes when you crash. Speedometer: shows km/h and the gear (D/R/N). Sound: an engine that changes gear as you speed up, tyre squeal when sliding, and a thud on crashes. Turn it on or off in the pause menu (Esc). Still to build: Phase 3: GPT Grand Prix racing (track, checkpoints, laps, AI racers) Phase 4: a bigger city with traffic, pedestrians, police and missions Phase 5: block building Phase 6: random events, weather and the superhero encounters Phase 7: world streaming for a much larger map Phase 8: polish, including sound, music, mobile controls and a loading screen
