Opus 5.5 builds a full-size fusion reactor you can take apart in a browser
After last week's take-apart browser fusion reactor, the author asked Opus 5.5 for a $30 billion full-size version: a 50 m cryostat, 16 magnets, 3,000 MW, with every pipe and cable routed to real subsystems.

Last week Claude Opus 5.5 built a fusion reactor you can take apart in your browser. So I asked it for the full size one ($30 billion) Cut in half: a 50 m cryostat, 16 magnets at minus 269 °C, 3,000 MW of fusion. Every cable and pipe goes somewhere real: the cryoplant, the magnet power supplies, the steam generators, the turbine, and a 500 kV line to a city. Guess how much fuel it burns a day.
