Opus 5.5 Minecraft mod fires the Big Dipper at the planet
A remote locks onto the Big Dipper, and seven real stars at their true distances fire beams at the planet one by one, each impact leaving a crater named after its star.
HOLY F*CK URSA MAJOR JUST BLEW UP MY COMPUTER I made a minecraft mod with OPUS 5.5 where you grab a little remote, point it at the sky and lock onto the big dipper. star by star. 7 of them. and then the whole constellation just fires at the planet not a skybox texture. these are real stars with their real distances: → dubhe locked, 123 light years away → the camera flies out to the sun to line up the shot → 7 beams fire from 7 stars, one after another → every impact gets its own crater, named after its star → the screen just says "constellation burned. 7 stars. 7 lines. 1440 blocks" and the nerdy part made me scream more than the explosions!!! the big dipper isn't actually a shape. those 7 stars are scattered anywhere from about 80 to 120 light years from us. the dipper only exists because we look at it from earth. the mod knows that. there's literally a line on screen saying "parallax. the figure only holds from sol". so it flies you back to the sun before it lets you shoot somebody turned an astronomy lesson into a weapon my pc started screaming just playing the clip humans looked at those 7 stars for thousands of years and saw a bear. minecraft saw ammo
