Opus 5.5 passes a Three.js volcano lava simulation test
Opus 5.5 produced a solid one-shot volcano simulation, needed a second prompt to get the viscous flowing lava, and took less than half the time GPT-6.1 Sol required.
Opus 5.5 did really well in my volcano simulation test. It produced a great one-shot result, but it completely ignored my request to have the lava actually flow down the volcano, so I used a second prompt and it finally gave me the liquid, viscous look I wanted. It took less than half the time GPT-6.1 Sol needed, which suggests to me that Opus is significantly faster and better at Three.js / WebGPU work, while Sol uses far less of the plan’s limits, at the cost of speed. (I’m not going to downplay 6.1 Sol though, because I could probably iterate on it another 20 times while using very little of my limits, and likely improve the result a lot...)
