Opus 5.5 builds a $35,000-tier jewellery brand site as a walkable gallery
Opus 5.5 generated a dark blue showroom-style jewellery site where scrolling moves you through a building, each room holding a single piece, which the author calls the most expensive-feeling atmosphere he has made.
OPUS 5.5 CAN BUILD A $35,000 SITE FOR A JEWELLERY BRAND, AND IT WALKS YOU THROUGH THE COLLECTION THE WAY A PRIVATE GALLERY WALKS YOU THROUGH AN EXHIBITION. I have always found jewellery sites a little boring, even the expensive ones. I did not feel that here at all, because I was moving through a dark blue showroom and I wanted to see every room.. I think I finally understand why my own luxury sites never felt special: they were all bright, clean and exactly like everyone else's. "I WALKED THROUGH IT INSTEAD OF SCROLLING IT" I think the smartest thing here is that my scroll moved me through a building, because I felt like a guest and not like a customer. I noticed that I was slowing down in the corridors, because I really wanted to know what was waiting around the next corner. I have never felt that on a normal shop page, where I scroll as fast as I can just to reach the end. "I ONLY SAW ONE COLOUR" I was surprised by how calm a single deep blue made me feel, and I think that calm is exactly what makes the brand look expensive. I liked that my eyes went straight to the jewellery every time, because it was the only bright thing in the room. I know that I would have added warm spotlights and some gold, and I am sure I would have ruined the mood.. "I FELT LIKE I WAS IN A MUSEUM" I loved that I found only one piece in each room, because it made a necklace feel as important as a sculpture. I think one object in an empty room will always look more valuable to me than twenty objects on a shelf. I usually try to show the whole collection on the first screen, and I now believe that makes every piece look cheaper. "I COULD ALMOST HEAR THE HEADLINES WHISPER" I read the line power without noise on the first screen, and I thought it explained the brand better than any paragraph could. I also liked that I never saw text on top of the jewellery... I think that shows a kind of respect for the product that I rarely see. I wish I had been that careful with words on my own sites, because I always wrote too much. "I HAD TO WAIT FOR THE LOGO" I walked through several rooms before I saw the name of the brand glowing on a wall, and I admired the confidence it takes to wait that long. I think most brands put their logo in every corner because they are afraid I will forget who they are.. I already understood what this brand stands for by the time I reached its name, and I believe that is the strongest introduction a brand can have. Full guide in article below
