Grok Bot templates by use: what's in the official Marketplace and what users share

The official Grok Bot Marketplace (x.ai/bot/marketplace) listed 90 templates on 18 October 2026, more than half of them in Marketing and Sales. This list picks 2 to 4 per use, adds templates users share on X, and explains what a template copies and how to check one. It draws on every Marketplace category page, the official template guide and 126 hand-read posts.

Bar chart of templates per category in the official Grok Bot Marketplace

Short answer. Start at the official Marketplace. On 18 October 2026 it had 90 templates from 48 named creators, 54 of them in the "From Grok Bot Team" row, across eight categories: Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Design, Personal, Recruiting & People, Product and Operations.

By use: dr eggbot to design your Bots; Lingxi's Engineer Bot and QA bot for code; SEO & AEO Desk and Video Editor for content; Outbound Prospecting for sales; Stalk Bot for competitors; Haggle Bot for SaaS spend; Tradbot and The Morning Newspaper for home life. 43 of the 90 card descriptions say the Bot won't send, spend or change things without your yes.

A template copies instructions, relevant memories, skills and first-party plugins. It does not copy the creator's computer, logins, chat history, custom code, scripts or MCP servers. Crypto, trading and paid-promo templates are left out, and the templates here were not installed or tested.

Before adding templates with routines, read why Grok Bot burns through its usage limit; more Grok Bot posts are in the personal assistants collection.

What a Grok Bot template is, and where to find one

A template is a recipe for a Bot, not a clone, and the official place to find one is the web Marketplace.

  • What it copies. The official guide calls a template "a recipe rather than a meal": a copy of the Bot's instructions, relevant memories, skills and specific plugins. Personal or internal memories are left out by default. Custom code, scripts and non-standard plugins such as MCP servers don't come along, so complex templates should carry setup instructions.
  • What you don't get. Cursor's docs say the recipient adds a copy and never gets the creator's computer, logins or conversation history. A public link shows the Bot's identity, description, skills and routines.
  • Where. x.ai/bot/marketplace has a Featured row, a From Grok Bot Team row and eight categories; creators also post share links on X. Template pages note that the Bot was created by a third-party user, not SpaceXSI, and that adding it accepts the terms.

More than half of the 90 templates are in Marketing and Sales; Engineering, Design and Recruiting have single digits, so picking by job works better than browsing by category.

Sample/method: Source: x.ai/bot/marketplace and its category pages, fetched 18 Oct 2026; descriptions condensed from each card, not installed or tested. 90 templates in total; 2 to 4 per use shown here.

The Featured row has dr eggbot (Lauren Tan), Overheard (Lenny Rachitsky; watches Reddit, Hacker News, news sites and X for mentions of your name or brand), Tradbot (Claire Vo) and Projects Manager (Eric Zakariasson; runs your team's projects from Notion).

Many cards spell out limits. Outbound Prospecting says "nothing sends without your yes"; Haggle Bot "never spends, signs, or sends without you"; Recruiting Coordinator "never emails a candidate without you".

How users say they worked

The most-discussed templates are the ones that build or manage other Bots. Results below are individual reports.

dr eggbot. テツメモ had it review two existing Bots; it proposed three specialists (an X idea notebook, newsletter editing, skill management) and set what each should not do, its tone and how it starts. Will Oldgram (@old_pgmrs_will) asked it to create a "Visual Intelligence Director" Bot to plan, generate and check image and video work. Grok Builder (@grok_builder) says dr eggbot built them "Meter", which audits all their Bots weekly; the first audit removed roughly a quarter of scheduled runs.

Stalk Bot. monokern (@monokern) says it signed up for 8 competitor products in the first hour and saved their onboarding on video, and that one competitor's sales team had emailed it three times by evening. This is the poster's account of one run, unverified.

Disk Saver. Mai Yang (@MaiYangAI) got a low-disk warning on the Grok Bot cloud computer after less than a month, and it came with a built-in template, Disk Saver.

From the creators. Claire Vo (@clairevo) walked through Tradbot, a family agent, and six other Bots on the "How I AI" show. Matt Palmer (@mattyp) showed a YouTube-management template set up with the YouTube Data API and AssemblyAI.

A caveat. Biscuit (@biscuitweb3): "if i have to rebuild half the template i am not calling that a shortcut". The official guide confirms that MCP servers and custom code don't come with a template, so complex ones need your own setup.

Templates users share themselves

Many useful templates exist only as share links on X. Treat them like any third-party software.

Some creators say a "Grok Bot Creator Rewards" pilot paid them for templates others used; Teslaconomics (@Teslaconomics) reported $723 in two weeks. That also brings promotional posts, which is one reason crypto, trading and paid "side hustle" templates are left out here.

What to check before you add one

Preview first, read what it connects to, then add and adjust.

  1. Read the preview. Check the context, memories and integrations it lists; the official guide says to evaluate templates like skills or software.
  2. Find what won't copy. API keys, MCP servers and scripts need your own setup, and you'll reconnect your own apps.
  3. Prefer stated limits. Pick cards that say they won't send, spend or delete without you.
  4. Check routines after adding. Scheduled routines spend your weekly usage each time they run.
  5. Sharing your own. Use Share as Template in the Bot's settings, choose team-only or a public link, and remove API keys, internal URLs and customer data first.

Questions and answers

Where do I find Grok Bot templates?

At the official Marketplace, x.ai/bot/marketplace (90 templates on 18 October 2026), and in share links creators post on X.

Does adding a template give me the creator's accounts or data?

No. You get a copy of the instructions, relevant memories, skills and plugins, not their computer, logins, chat history, custom code or MCP servers.

Do Grok Bot templates cost money?

The Marketplace shows no prices. Running a Bot uses your plan's usage, and Grok Bot needs Premium, Super or Ultra (or a legacy plan).

Which template should a beginner add first?

dr eggbot, to design Bots for your work, or the community Grok Bot Tutorial (20 lessons); then one template for your main job.
