Gemini 4 Pro / Flash: benchmarks, hands-on tests and leaks

An observation that a colleague has been rapidly prototyping all kinds of simulations with Gemini 4 Argon over a few weeks.

A user notes Gemini 4 Carbon doesn't look like a Flash-tier model and suspects it is positioned as Gemini 4 Pro, recalling that Google staff said a Flash-tier Gemini 4 would exist.

A user notes there is almost no discussion of Gemini 4 Flash, says 3.8 Flash already replaced GPT-6-Luna for cheap work, and hopes the more competitive Gemini 4 Flash ships soon.

LuminaBench says Gemini 4 Carbon is apparently dropping this month too, and hopes leaks that its coding is around Opus 5.5 level are correct.

A tech artist used Gemini 4 Argon to build a Tesseract Museum, an interactive 4D hypercube with 8 rooms of Smithsonian 3D scans for education.

The Information reports Google is preparing Gemini 4 Carbon, a coding-focused upgrade to Argon aimed at matching Opus 5.5 on multi-file coding while leading on visual web testing.

vedang argues Argon is a sleeper hit like earlier Gemini models, strong on the speed, accuracy, cost and enterprise data storage trade-off.

Over a weekend the author used Gemini 4 Argon in Antigravity to build a three.js and Blender WebGPU simulation with custom shaders, 120 Hz physics and a seven-part rigged Roadster model.

Citing The Information, the post says Gemini 4 Carbon, Fable 5.5 and GPT-6.1 Terra may land this month, while questioning Terra's positioning and guessing OpenAI might also ship a new Astra.
