Gemini 4 Pro / Flash: benchmarks, hands-on tests and leaks

A user notes that Google claims Gemini 4 Argon beats Opus, yet Opus still leads at coding on Google's own chart, and Argon is not yet available for anyone to test.

A user shares cat emoji stickers generated with Gemini 4 Argon and calls on Google to open up access to the model further.

A roundup says the Gemini app now offers low, medium and high thinking levels, free users are moved to Auto, Argon references appear in Antigravity and CLI 1.3.3, and Google is internally testing a Gemini 4 checkpoint codenamed Carbon.

A leak suggests Google may release Gemini 4 Flash (Argon) and Gemini 4 Pro (Carbon) next week, with no checkpoint signs yet for a Flash Lite model.

A post says Gemini 4 Argon is still hard to access 11 days after launch while Google staff test the next model, Carbon, which is rumored to code close to Opus 5.5.

An opinion post says pay-per-use API pricing keeps falling, citing Gemini 4 Argon's mid-tier pricing and Claude Haiku 5.5's 90% price cut, while flat-rate subscriptions get more expensive as OpenAI drops its $200 plan for a $500 one.

An Arabic account rounds up signs that Gemini 4, Gemini 4 Flash and Gemini 4 Argon could arrive next week, citing new thinking options per model in the Gemini app and older models leaving Antigravity within days.

A user says Gemini 4 Argon is already configured in Google's Antigravity and believes Google has officially launched it.

A post jokes that Google keeps announcing it is working on a model better than Gemini 4 Argon while users have nothing to try and can only wait.

A leak claims the Carbon version of the Gemini 4 family arrives before Argon, and says Google will next release the world's most powerful model.

A post with an image states directly that Gemini 4 Argon is here, but gives no access link or hands-on details, so it remains a rumor-level signal.

A joke post says Astra 6.1 is waiting for Gemini 4 Argon to launch, Fable 5.5 is waiting for Astra 6.1, and the author is waiting for all of them.
