Gemini 4 Pro / Flash: benchmarks, hands-on tests and leaks

A user shares a comparison chart and says Gemini 4 Argon beats Opus 5.5 on most benchmarks, asking whether Google is finally back.

Gemini 4 Argon is said to score 53 on the AA Intelligence Index, above GPT-6 Sol and next to GPT-6 Astra, described as a comeback for Google.

Google's new flagship is renamed Gemini 4 Argon and opens first to Fairwind cybersecurity partners; against GPT-6 Astra, Opus 5.5 and others it takes first on 14 of 19 benchmarks, with output raised to 1M tokens.

A Turkish long post breaks down Argon's launch details: output limit raised from 64K to 1M tokens, internal use for Fuchsia kernel Rust migration, a 2.7x faster libgav1 rewrite, and Wiz using it to find a serious flaw in medical software.

Output limit rises to 1M tokens, Terminal-Bench 4.0 scores 57.4%, introductory pricing is $2/$10, and access is currently limited to trusted testers.

The post lists eight figures including Vals Index 68.9%, DeepSWE 77.9% and Harvey Legal 19.6%, and says Google has already used it internally for Rust migration and quantum algorithm optimization, though it is not yet public.

TokenGremlin asks whether Gemini 4 Argon will come out of nowhere to beat Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra, or whether its benchmarks are oversold and it will disappoint in practice.

A poster claims GPT-6 Astra is the same model as Gemini 4 at half the price, with more generous usage on the $20 plan, and says they will test the subscription themselves.

Argon reportedly supports 1M input and output tokens, scores 19.6% on Harvey Legal versus 5.5% for Opus and Astra, and has already rewritten libgav1 SIMD code inside Google, freeing hundreds of TiB of memory.

The leaked Gemini 4 Argon scores 53 on the AA Intelligence Index, tying for third place with Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra.

A post says Gemini 4 Argon leads GPT-6 Astra, Claude Fable 5.5 and Opus 5.5 on benchmarks, but is currently limited to selected cybersecurity experts, with broader access coming via API and the Google AI Ultra subscription.

A poster says Google DeepMind's Gemini 4 Argon has jumped to the top of the AI frontier with striking benchmarks, adding that one should never bet against Google in the AI era.
