GPT-6 Astra in Practice: Tests, Use Cases, and Feedback

A user asked Astra xHigh to build a 2D/3D visualization; the first version barely worked, self-review kept finding 15 then 20 more bugs, and one evening used 40% of a $100 Pro plan.

Running ls ~/.hermes shows SOUL.md, memories, skills and config.yaml; the author says his agent runs on GPT-6 Astra through his ChatGPT login with no API bill.

A leak claims OpenAI's Astra 6.1 could not ship as planned for DevDay due to safety concerns, while Anthropic holds back Fable 5.5 to keep Opus 5.5 ahead, with the two releases likely to follow each other closely.

OpenAI's Thibault Sottiaux says the 6.1 generation differs significantly from earlier models, so the optimal defaults differ between GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol, and the 6.1 Sol change was made only after confirming the results.

The new AA-3D benchmark has models build interactive three.js scenes from written briefs in a sandbox and ranks 21 models by blind human votes, with Claude Sonnet 5.5, Opus 5.5, GPT-6 Astra and Fable 5.1 statistically tied for first.
