GPT-6 Astra in Practice: Tests, Use Cases, and Feedback

Gemini 4 Argon, Claude Sonnet 5.5, GPT-6 Astra and Opus 5.5 were given the same prompt, "Build a night train," and the results are compared side by side.

One prompt has Opus 5.5, Gemini 4, GPT-6 Astra and Kimi K3 each build a top-down traffic simulation, and the author compares cost and output quality, finding Astra the priciest but cleanest on lanes and traffic flow.

Design Creativity Bench tests 16 models on 80 UI tasks, with GPT-6 Astra scoring 65.5 against a human designer reference of 92.3.

The third-party agent tool HermesAgent gets a major overhaul, adding support for GPT-6 Astra/Sol/Luna and sharply reducing the token cost of tool definitions.

A developer shares RHAE results from months of running Codex and Claude Code on the public ARC-AGI-3 demo, saying Astra blew past the benchmark and killed his interest.

The author announces an October 15 YouTube livestream comparing Gemini 4 Argon and GPT-6 Astra on detection, segmentation, transcription, data extraction, efficiency and cost.

The author gave Codex a flash-cut video and asked it to rebuild the motion design in After Effects with the same footage and SFX, in one take and with no extra instructions, to compare Astra against a human.

The author says Astra Light Fast is the fastest combination in terms of latency and token efficiency, notes it uses up Plus quota somewhat quickly but is acceptable, and argues speed should be weighted more when evaluating AI.

Artificial Analysis data shows Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 score highest but average 13–15 minutes per task, while Muse Wonder scores 52.4 in 6.8 minutes and GPT-6 Astra takes about 8.1 minutes; the author uses this to pitch a latency-routing gateway.

The post lists nine repositories in orchestration, execution and verification layers, including LangGraph, AutoGen, OpenHands, Promptfoo and Langfuse, forming an agent architecture around Astra.

Run with the same prompt at the highest available reasoning level, Argon took 1 hour 9 minutes and cost $15.11, while Astra took 1 hour 10 minutes and cost $27.5.

Fable 5.5 appeared in Azure's East US 2 model catalog with Generally Available status and could launch this week, while OpenAI is preparing GPT-6.1 Astra for the coming weeks.
